11. Amputation of Foot

When a member loses a foot, or a member loses all toes on the same foot (including big toe), the member is eligible for a TSGLI benefit for amputation of foot if the member meets the following standard:


If the member suffers…

OR the member suffers…

Amputation of foot at or above* the ankle

Amputation of all toes (including the big toe) on the same foot at or above* the metatarsophalangeal joint.

*The words “at or above” in the standard refers to the loss being closer to the body.
